U.S. Arms Company

Hello all. My wife's grandparents have a double-barrel shotgun hanging above their mantle and have had it for many years. They swear that it is pre-1900 but from what little I know about guns it doesn't look it. The company name on the side is: U.S. Arms Company. I cannot find a date on it to save my life. I have searched vigoriously to find history on the U.S. Arms Company and all I get is the U.S. Repeating Arms Company, a decendent of Winchester. Does anybody have any information on the company or a better way to find details about the gun that will make my search more productive? Any help from the guru's of shotguns is appreciated!

Thanks!

Jeremy
