???types of CCW available???

I have a couple questions regarding CCWs
1. I know in MICHIGAN there are at least a couple types of CCW a) Hunting/shooting b)others which allow carry outside of State land, Could anyone elaborate on these.
In my profession I frequently enter bad parts of town in Detroit, and I stand out like a whitehead. Since it is basically a personal defence purpose I don't know what the chances are of obtaining a CCW and would like to find out without paying a litany of fees to my local cop shop, they have enough of my money from speeding and parking tickets.
2. If it may be possible to obtain a CCW, Any advice as to the best way to phrase the purpose of having it. In my profession things are often turned down without explaination entirely by the wording used to obtain things. Thanks for the help.
 
In your profession, you are often turned down without being given much of an explanation... So you sell drugs too, eh? LOL I guess in this profession, it's acceptable to be vague.

I honestly haven't heard about the different types of CCW permits. I know there's hunting, but that's totally different.

Just as an aside, I'm only newly serious regarding handguns and CCW. For about three months now I've been doing a lot of research on the 'net and I'm SHOCKED at the restrictive laws on gun ownership, not to mention CCW by so many of the states. I honestly had no idea how much freedom had been degraded in the US. Thank god I live in a 'shall-issue' semi-free state.

Mept, if you are going to get serious, the you need to take the time and PAY the fees to learn and obtain CCW permit if you can. I think what you are refering to is that couriers and armored car agents may be permitted different latitude or permits in carrying. Ask your local sheriff that you would like to read up on it more. Of course, you may have to pay for the instruction book.There is no short cut. Pay the fees.
 
Vermont is the best example of a free state...
You've the right to carry...no permit...no CCW required. It appears this applies to visitors to the state (i.e. non residents) as well.

Ron Paul of Texas introduced a bill (HB-407) that would require states to recognize other states CCW's (as they do with driver's licenses). He needs sponsors. Call your congressional representative (Capital 202 224 3121) and urge your state's congressman or woman to sponsor, support and vote for Paul's bill.
 
I don't know what county you live in, but Monroe and Macomb county are shall issue counties. You have to take a handgun safety and CCW course and pay fee's for the FBI background check. I live in Monroe county and I invested about 175-200$ in classes and fee's. It was either that or don't carry! If you have any other question's, just email me and I'll do the best I can to answer them for you. Good luck. One more thing, one of my reason's for requesting a CCW was the 2nd Amendment. If you live in wayne county, forget it, they are socialists.
 
I need info. on how to do it in CA (HELP!!!). I'm 38 and have a bad heart and cannot defend myself physically if attacked. I carry large amounts of bearable bonds,collectables and coins and need to protect them. I did not sweat it much before 'cause short of the other guy having a gun or knife I could hold up. Then two weeks ago I get told my heartshot and I get to get cut open. I I live I want CCW to protect myself. I can shoot still.
