Tyle T Grips

I purchased a couple of sets of Tyler T grips a few years ago and have really enjoyed them. Would like to purchase some more but have read in the past that customers were having problems getting their products and even heard that the company went out of business. Checked out their website and it was updated in January, 2014. Has anyone had any recent dealings with the company? Have you received your grips? How is their service now?
Thanks in advance.

From my understanding Tyler is still in business, and their delivery is still somewhat spotty. If you pay by U.S.P.S. money order that does speed up delivery. Pay by check and it can take much longer to receive your adapter.

For the last several years I've used the BK adapter, a great product that uses two attachment clips and ships in days not weeks or months.

They are still in business.

I love mine! Got them maybe 3 months ago.

I have also heard the same thing. I bought my original Melvin Tyler T grips on a online auction a couple of years ago when Tyler T was out of business. The have since re-opened under new ownership. I was lucky to find these correct period grips at the time to go with my Security Six.

I had heard that they were back on track, more or less. Of course most of my up to the minute info I get either here or on THR.

I really want this to be true, 'cause I am very interested in getting one for my Highway Patrolman. I am stubbornly insistent on Magnas for it, and need a touch of filler there.

Hoping for some more positive input from folks more in the know.

They only accept mail in orders, and the only forms of payment they take are checks and money orders. Expect to wait several weeks, but eventually you will get it. If you have more money than time, a few people sell them on guns america, gun broker, and ebay, usually at a significant markup.

I've gotten a few for a reasonable price on eBay and of various other classifieds types of websites. I also cleaned out my local gun store who had 3 or 4 for $10 each, so original ones can be found if you get lucky.

Hey Sniper,
What make and model is that knife that is in your photo. Would like to get one like it.
Thanks.

I think I'd wait a few weeks for an aluminum or bronze T Grip than pay the same amount for painted resin from BK.

Actually, it doesn't appear that it would be at all difficult to make the equivalent of the BK out of epoxy putty or grip-matching wood in an afternoon.

I ordered one a couple years ago and it took close to 6 months. Basically what I was told was the father who ran the company at the time was hiding how big of a backlog they had and royally screwed up the orders. What bothered me was that I was constantly told every time I called I would be getting it in a couple weeks. That led to 6 months, but I eventually got it. While it wasn't the best experience, I would buy one again and just wait it out of I needed it.

I have ordered three in the last year and all took about a month to come in. My understanding is that the current owner actually shipped all the old orders that he could find or was contacted about. He seems to be really trying to get the business back on it's feet. I wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I ordered a couple, and have so far been waiting 3 months.

In the past (about a year ago), I received them in roughly 2 weeks.

It's a Buck AKONUA.

I would love to get a stag handled one to match that .44 you see in the photo but they cost ALOT!
