Thanks for the info. In noticed though, the most important office to folks concerned with their right to keep and bear arms, is not on the listing on the site.
That is your county district attorney. Make sure you find out in your county, which of your candidates is the stongest pro gun rights guy, and can explain his interpretation of the 2nd amendment. Because the DA is the guy who (God Forbid) will be the one to prosecute you for something, and make the decision if you are going to be able to own a gun in your life ever again, if they choose to interpret the law like a British lawyer.
I contacted both Texas Republican candidates in my county running in the primary, and asked each one the following question only. "What is your position on guns?" and the two answers were astoundingly different. One guy (who I am supporting in my county election now) knew the purpose of the 2nd amendment, and the other guy's answer could have come from Janet Reno. And I understand the Democrat candidate in our county, specializes in prosecuting domestic violence cases (a statement or percieved threat can get you indicted for this misdemeanor) in such a fashion that the sole intent is being able to remove your gun rights for life, if someone even simply makes a claim you threatened them. I understand that candidate calls it "getting more guns off the street".
So make that DA candidate you vote for tell their views on guns, with no indication of how you want them to answer.
Just ask, "what is your view on guns?" either by email, or if in meetings, and if asking in person in town hall meetings, only wear clothes that do not indicate you hunt or fish, etc. The one that answers without equivicating, is the one you may want to vote for.
And voting in the primary elections is the most assured way to get a pro gun candidate in, for sure.
I am working for the first time in an election campaign as an unsolicited volunteer, since just finding out about how powerful that county office truly is.
