Two Tone Chrome Revolver

I'm considering getting my 4" Model 19 chromed and am wondering what's possible for a two toned finish, using brushed vs matte finishes. I've seen several examples among semi's but no revolvers.

It's my understanding that the finish grade derives from polishing of the underlying metal.

How precisely are firearms plating shops able / willing to differentiate the finish on a revolver?

For example, I imagine that matte flutes on a brushed cylinder barrel wouldn't be too difficult. But how about a matte lug with brushed barrel and matte top strap? Or matte trigger guard faces and backstrap with brushed flats on the frame?
 
For matte finishes, you simply sand/bead blast or wire brush the areas you want matted.

For high-gloss finishes, you give the metal a high gloss polish.
 
It can be done, a lot of it has been done.
But less of it is being done now than before.
I see that APW will matte the curves and polish the flats on a 1911 slide, but decline to do that for the reciever. I commented unfavorably on that trend on another board and got severly scolded for my lack of appreciation of fine work.

So you will have two problems.
First, finding somebody to do the tedious work of masking and beading/brushing/polishing different areas, then plating.
Second, paying for it. It will be a tedious and time consuming process, and gunsmiths no longer work cheap.
 
Are there people who specialize in the preparation and polishing? - whose work I could send directly to a plater.
