Recently I ordered a set of Ashley aperture sights, with front posts, for each of 2 rifles.
They include what they call a "test post" with each permanent front post. It's plastic, made up of 0.05" segments, and is purposely too tall. Per the instructions, you shoot, snip off a segment, shoot, snip, etc., until the point of impact is close (within the rear sight's elevation range), and that's the right height. According to the girl on the phone, the height of the permanent post they send out is their best guess for the proper height. If it's not right, they'll exchange it.
The permanent post for one gun was the right height, but the wrong width. The other one was the right width, but the wrong height. I called Ashley, per the instructions, and they 1) sent out 2 new posts immediately, before I returned the first set, and 2) included a postage-paid envelope for me to return the first set. These aren't cheap ($30 apiece), and I was expecting Ashley to want the first set back before they sent out any more.
Now I started to install the permanent post on one of the guns, and I noticed that I had neglected to consider the width of the ramp. It's .25", but I had mistakenly specified the .34" width. Ashley makes both, so I called them again (and admitted my mistake). This time, they sent the proper post by FedEx, next day. This goes "above and beyond", IMO, especially since I'm the one who screwed up.
Oh, and the sights work pretty well, too.
