Two questions about Beretta Elites...

For starters, does the standard 92FS fit the 92G Elite?
And secondly, what's the difference between the Elite and Elite II versions? Eh heh, I haven't really looked into the Elite series seriously before, but now I am. Any comments would be appriciated. Thanks

Do you mean by that do the magazines fit ? yes. Holster ? no, the E/E2 use the Brigadier (heavy) slide. Leather is not as easy to come by for Brig slide models...

what's the difference between the Elite and Elite II versions?

E2's have the 92/6 D model trigger spring, for better trigger pull., and extended magazine release, Inox slide / ss barell, black target sights (replaceable), serrations on the front of the slide, & checkering on the front & back of the grip.

I have the 96E2, it's a really nice shooter.

Thanks a lot. Yeah, I was talking about magazines, just forgot to put that crucial word in there.
The magazine thing was one of the big things preventing me from buying an Elite instead of a standard, because I found high-cap mags for less than $30 bucks, ordered a pair, and they are very high quality. And there's more where that came from, y'know? I think I'll just mosey on down to a range and check an Elite out... thanks a lot :)

no more -new- Elites

It is my understanding the Elite is no longer in production....
The Elite II's are, however. But they are hard to find as they were out of stock over the summer months and have only recently started new production runs. (This info from good sources on the Beretta-L mailing list.)

FWIW, I have an Elite (I), and I love it. A wonderful shooter (w/ about 2200 rounds through it in the last year, about 300 of those +P or NATO). The decocker is the way they all should be, IMO.

I'm planning on picking up a plain-jane 92FS soon to keep the round-count down on the semi-collectable and very pretty Elite, however.

best wishes,

rvb

Ach! I wonder why Beretta doesn't update their website with this information? No where on the Beretta website are the Elite II's mentioned, nor is the fact that the standard Elites are no longer produced! Beaurocratic inertia: Everyone's enemy.
