Well two is better than one, BUT that depends on the gun! Of course there's always four $500 guns or ten $200 guns. Personally, and being on a budget ,I feel after $1000 the value to benefit margin starts to diminish. Sure it's likely a better gun, maybe just not a $1000 better

If all I had to spend on handguns (not ammo, training, accessories, etc) was $2,000 I would choose 2 $1,000 guns or 2 $700 and 1 $600 gun.

First, they would all be slightly used.

For 2 $1,000 guns, I'd choose a Sig all stainless Elite 226 in 9mm and a Boberg XR9-S

For 3 guns totaling $2,000, I'd choose a Sig .226 9mm; CZ 75B 9mm mat stainless; and an STI LS40.

There are alot of people that think a cheap gun can't be a good gun.

I've seen people bad mouth $750 DPMS ARs but brag about their $1500 Colt or Armalite even though the lowers are made in the exact same factory from the exact same forgings and the uppers are identical.

I would rather have 3 RIA 1911s than 1 kimber. Frankly, with as many problems as Kimbers are prone to, I'd rather have one RIA instead of one Kimber unless I could test fire it first.

How much a gun costs is often not an indicator of quality.
