Two of the Same

i posted a thread with the exact same question a long time ago

some of the common answers were:
if you were to use it for SD/CCW it is likely the police will confiscate it for evidence during the investigation, therefore you have a backup that operates exactly the same as your primary

if it breaks you have another

they really really really like that gun

The closest I can come is two large frame stainless .45 Colt Vaqueros. One has a 4 5/8 inch barrel, and the other a 5 1/2 inch barrel.

Reason? I asked a local FFL to get me one, and he said he couldn't find one. Then I found one in a local shop, and bought it. Then found out a week or so later that the first FFL had found one and got it in.

The first FFL was a friend of my brother's, so my brother told him not to tell me it was coming, and paid for it for me as a B-day gift. My b-day was 4 or 5 months after I ordered it, so the FFL had to cover for my brother by saying he couldn't find one.

The first one that I bought is my favorite "field" gun. It's been altered quite a bit to suit my needs and wants, and I shoot it quite a bit. The other gets shot some too, but it's still pretty much factory original, and shoots to POA that way. One day I'll probably do a custom 5-shot conversion on it, but no hurry.

I own two Taurus 651 .357 snubbies. I liked the first one so much that I bought a second.

I have two sets of triplets as well, but more on the order of siblings. 3 Glocks in .45acp (One of each size) and 3 1911 platforms in .45acp (one in each size) but these are my only identical twins.

It it is a collectable type gun, investment reasons would be my main reason for stocking up on one particular gun. I have a bunch of A5 Belgium Browning for this very reason.
 
Simply because I wanted another one.

If I like something and I could have two of them instead of only one, why would I not?

I'd like to have another of my vehicle, the steak in the fridge, my girlfriend....
