I have shot Super Blackhawks for over 50 years and never owned anything smaller than the 44 mag . Now that I am older and smarter I bought two new Blackhawks this week .

I bought a Vaquero Birdshead with 3.3/4 inch barrel in 45 Colt . Also a Blackhawk 4.5/8 inch barrel in 44 Special . Shot them both today for the first time and they are a lot of fun . The Vaquero is a surprise to me it shot very well with 200gr. lead and 7.2gr. of 231 . The Blackhawk shot fine not as much fun but fun anyway . The 44 Special with 200gr. lead was loaded with H4227 and a 240gr. jacketed XTP with 15.1gr. of 296 shot well.

Got to love them Rugers

I bought my Super Blackhawk in 1966, and have killed a pile of deer with it. I like the old 3 screw Rugers, I have an old Bearcat, a Single Six, a 9mm, a 357, a 41 mag., a 44 mag, and a 45 Colt. I went up in power instead of down though, I have a Super Red Hawk in 454, a 460 barrel for an Encore and a 500 S&W Preformance Center revolver. I like to know when the gun goes off. ;)
