I live in the Northern Kentucky / Cincinnati Ohio area and we've had two home invasion shootings within the past week that resulted in the deaths of the invaders. At this point, it looks like neither the Kentucky nor Ohio home owners will be charged with murder.
I think its a right step forward that neither will be charged and that you have a right to protect yourself in your own home without fear of charges.
Kentucky recently passed the Castle Doctrine law but I think that in Ohio you are required to flee if possible. Either way I hope it sends a clear message. Break into someones home, attack the occupants and you will pay a price and the law supports this.
