J Jim Watson New member Dec 12, 2001 #4 Col. Townsend Whelen, Ken Waters, and the Speer #10 manual give Winchester .308 twist as 12" per turn. Remingtons use 10". Other makes use one or the other. Some target shooters can't make up their mind and have 11" twist barrels made up.
