Does anyone know the twist rate on a CVA 50cal. Hawken barrel? I also own a couple of TC Hawken rifles with a 1/48 twist, but do not know the twist on my 50cal.CVA Hawken. The barrel is marked, made in Spain. Respectfully, cowboys1062

Mine is 1:48.
You can use a ramrod, tightly patched & well lubed to measure the twist rate easily.
Mark 24"
run the rod down 24"
mark TDC
raise rod, note %of rotation
do math.

Mine is 1 in 52, which is a bit odd...

I bottomed out the ramrod, using a .50 jag and two very lightly oiled patches for a tight fit. Marked the muzzle end on the ramrod and pulled it out slowly, allowing it to rotate as it wanted. At the 180 degree point I marked the muzzle end on the ramrod again, the finished removing it. Measured the distance between the two marks as 26", thus 1 in 52. Repeated the test twice, once with new oiled patches and once with dry patches, and got the same answer both times.

1:52 is 1:48 Its not 100% accurate. My last barrels came up as 1:56 and the box stated they are 1:66 so theres some patch slop when you start pulling upward.
