Two cops (on their bikes) are going head to head with four bad guys armed with handguns starting at a distance of about 75-80 yards. They dismount their seats, keeping their feet on the pedals, then rest the front of their pelvises and abdomens on the T-bar of the bicycles handlebars. They unholster their sidearms and proceed to shoot it out with the baddies while coasting for about 65 yards at a snail's pace. The two of the oficers take down all four of the baddies, but one officer goes down. Please tell me this won't show up in real life somewhere.

When guns are involved, if it's from Hollywood, it's the wrong technique. At least, that's better odds than you'll get in Las Vegas...

In a slightly related thread. (bikes and guns)I was in the bike shop a month ago picking up my new Trek. While I was waiting a Bike patrol officer came in and was picking up some supplies. He commented on my HK T-shirt, something like did I have the rifle to go with it? Told him "yes" and we started talking bikes and guns, ( got strange looks from staff and other customers and it was no longer crowded around us). Somehow we got to clipless pedals and bike shoes. He related how they don't like to dismount and try to grab someone on concrete because the steel cleat in the bottom of the shoe makes it like walking on ice. He said he had a real tough time trying to control a drunk half his size. He never did mention shooting mounted though

i have been tempted to volunteer my services as a shreader to teach bike cops advanced bike techniques...

I think for real bicycle cops stop to shoot and interestingly, they train to be able to shoot after a exhausting full speed ride.
Ride, Ride - get off pant, pant - shaky hands
, etc. They practice for this.
As far as the show, you are supposed to watch the beautiful people, not the guns.
