Turn your scattergun into a blunderbuss

for HD, i like buckshot. who knows where that thing would throw the pellets. also, it says that penetrating walls wont happen. thats enough for me to know they dont know what theyre talkin about

The problem, though, is that in the US, you can't cut your shotgun barrel down to 10" unless you shell out $200 and get your gun registered as an SBS or possibly an AOW.

Color me skeptical.

This company's other products include the "Bed-A-Cizer" and a pedal operated toilet seat.

If it's a real product, it would certainly be interesting to shoot, but I certainly wouldn't buy one.

It's very possible it won't shoot through a wall. The barrel expands almost as soon as it leaves the receiver which would let all the expanding gas leak around the wad. The only bad thing is it won't shoot through a bad guy either, at least not enough to do any damage.

Just so you guys know, a flared barrel like a blunderbuss has doesn't make the shot pattern wider. The only reason them barrels were made like that in the old days was to help aid in loading while on horseback.

Yea True it is a 200 dollar AOW tax fee, but just dont tell anyone

(Not recommending doing so, I have my Class III)

First off, its not an AOW, which consists of a five dollar tax stamp, but a SBS, which is two hundred dollars. One would think that the holder of a Class 3 FFL would know these things. Looking at your posts, I have a hard time believing you, in fact, hold an FFL of any sort, not to mention a Class 3 dealers license. Please post the first three and the last five of your FFL number, so that I might lay my fears aside, and run you through the EX Check system.

Maser,, you got it right. Besides, I have to wonder how much you would have to butcher your forend to accomodate this conversion. I think I will stick with my .45LC and some warm loads, just aim better is all. Maybe a laser grip

Haha I think you're right.....Ok so while we're on this issue, answer me this:

I find and old DB shotgun in my grandpas basement after he passes away. I cut the barrel down to ____ inches (something less than 18). Can I pay the tax and do the req'd ATF stuff to make it legal? Or is it still illegal because I modified it myself? I've always been confused about this issue. If I could legally register a home made sawed off, I'd like to. The gun is free technically, so it would be like paying 200 for a little sawed off shottie.

Dont quote me on this, as Im not an attorney or an ATF agent.

Tecnically, its illegal. What one could do, theoretically, is disassemble the gun, transport the barrels somewhere far removed from the receiver. Send in your cash and register the receiver. Wait for the Tax Stamp, and when it arrives, reassemble.

So I guess that implies that the only legal way to own a sawed off is to buy one that was manufactured with a barrel under 18 inches? So I could take the reciever from this shotgun and register it, then put on the original barrels after I had sawed 'em off? Hows the recoil on one of these, just curious?

Ok, I reread, and was mistaken. I had assumed that the gun was already cut. If not, all you have to do is send off for the stamp, wait for it to be approved, and then cut it down when it is.

Back on the topic of the blunderbuss barrel. Do you have any idea just how freaking loud a barrel like that would be?
