Turkish Firearms Industry/Quality-Price

I picked up my third Turkish made firearm yesterday, namely, a SAR K2 14+1 .45acp. This in addition to my Regent 1911 and Escort 12G have led me to the conclusion that the Turks know what they are doing and are making very affordable high-quality products absent any doubt. The SAR K2 (has a CZ look/feel) is comparable to ,say, the Glock 21, the Regent 1911 the RIA 1911 line and the shotgun is along the same lines as its Mossberg or Remington equivalents.

Just an observation in these hectic times we live...

I just picked up a SARPASP tactical shotgun. I'm impressed with the quality, features, and price ($330@LGS). Haven't had a chance to shoot it but I will be going to the range this Friday. It is modeled off of an 870 and the extended mag tube fits the shotgun. Beretta/Benelli choke tubes also fit the shotgun.

I've also been eying the TISAS 1911 45acp that buds has been selling for cheap when they have it in stock.

That is too broad of a statement. While there are a few makers who make a quality gun, there are also a lot of others who are still in the learning curve mode or who are building to certain price points - those guns are iffy at best

No different than here where we have makers like Jennings and Wilson Combat

Rebel,

I can honestly say from my experience (as well as the many favorable online reviews) that you're spot on with your considerations and I think you nailed it with the shotgun (looks much like my Hatsan Escort Turkish 12)..

Keep up posted as it can be a bit difficult finding first hand accounts of the Turkish models.

Which specific Turkish guns or manufacturers are you referring to?

Being TDY to Incirlik a bunch, there was an Huglu factory store right outside the gate in "the Alley". The TMO office on base had a customs person with all the BATFE forms and the process down on importation. I picked up a 12 O/U that is really nice, as well as an auto loader.

My only complaint was the auto was really stiff! And the bolt handle came off on a goose hunt. Haven't been able to use it since...

The makers of the S&W (now Dickinson) SxS guns made an EXCELLENT gun that was a great deal at MSRP of $2500 and an even better one at closeout pricing of $1200.

The CZ, made by Huglu are not there yet - but only because they are trying to maintain a low price point and something has to give. Quality is hit and miss, triggers suck, wood to metal is inconsistent

SARPASP 12ga shotgun

Posting a follow up for the range time I had with my SAR Arms 12ga shotgun.

Over all I'm really impressed with the shotgun. I was able to shoot several target loads, 00 buck, and some slugs through it.

I used the standard door breech choke tube and had decent accuracy with the slugs. The 00 buck and target loads had a good spread pattern at 15 yards.

The one issue i had with it was that if i tried to slowly rack the pump it would hang when trying to chamber a round. I was being a puss and didn't do it in a fluid motion. Once i helped feed it in the chamber and then manned up and racked it how it should be done i had no issues at all.

Several people shot the gun and all liked it a lot.

If you have any questions in regards to this gun please ask and i'll do my best to answer.
