New to the shotgun world and I am looking to buy my first, but, I need some help. I will be using it for skeet shooting on the weekends at a friends house but would like to be able to go turkey hunting every once in a while with the same gun. Is this possible and if so can you give me some suggestions in a 12 gauge. Thanks alot for any help.

You cant go wrong with a Remington 870 with set of choke tubes for a begginer. If you want to spend some more money you could look at the semi-auto's, like browning, berreta, benelli, fine guns but 3x the price of the 870.(then again you get what you pay for)

The 870 is as reliable a shotgun as ever made. An Express and a couple choke tubes can fit you for anything, including Skeet and Turkey.

"Get what you pay for", Hoss? Name me one shotgun that does as much for less than a week's pay.

the 870 is a constant shooter, but there are other shotguns that are more "fun" to blow up clays with IMO, and nearly everything has choke tubes now so really anything would work. Some say you need 3.5 inches out of a 12 ga to kill a turkey, but dont believe it. Any 3 inch #5 will do fine. I would never knock a 870, thats a straight ticket to hell.

I have a Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag pump 12G shotgun. It is the turkey version, and it Reeltree Hardwood camo, with fiber optic sights. It has a thumbhole stock, and will accept 2 3/4"-3 1/2" shells. This is a nice feature, because you are not limited to shell size, like other shotguns. It is a sweet shotgun, and works for everything from skeet shooting to bringing down the Mighty Gobbler. :D
I got it for $349.00 new last year. It's not as fancy shmancy as some of your higher end shotguns, but it has never let me down.
