Tula 9MM 115Gr FMJ any good ???

I was wondering about Tula 9MM 115Gr FMJ ammo. I know it is steel cased and I would like to know if it would be ok to use it in my 20 year old PT92. It's made in Russia and right now it goes for $35.00 a box at my local gun store in Tulsa. I have a pretty good supply of ammo and have never bought any of that brand or Wolf which is basically the same make. Just wondering about using steel cases.

Also, that gun store has a good supply of guns and they seem not to tell customers that that is the only brand of 9mm they have until the gun is bought.

Just would like to know if it is safe ammo to use.
 
This has been discussed at length in past threads. The Cliff's Notes version is that it usually functions OK and is reasonably accurate, but it's dirty, some shooters have concerns about increased barrel and extractor wear, and many shooting ranges have banned it due to the bi-metal (partially steel) bullets.

I shoot it from time to time, no complaints. However, unless it was hand crafted by Boris Yeltsin and has a certificate of authenticity, there's no way I'd pay 35 bucks for a single box.
 
$35/box?

Locally, I can't find any 9MM.

Ditto for 22LR.

I went to Wal-Mart yesterday.

Only caliber they had was oddball ones like 20 gauge, 22-250, etc. and most of the cabinet was empty, now taken up by stuff other than ammo.

Nothing in 9, 40, 45, 380, 22lr, 223, 308, 30-06, 7.62 NATO, 7.62x39, etc.

Plus they limit purchase to one box per (same) individual per day.

I guess they assume that the most you should/can shoot is 20-50 rounds per person.
 
Bought three boxes of this stuff at Walmart day before yesterday.
Haven't fired any but I only paid $10.97 per box. Your LGS is pricing very high.
