The drawing of the winning ticket for the Maadi-Griffin Legal Defense Fund www.maadigriffin.com will be this Wednesday, September 20th, at 7pm (get there early to eat in peace) at the Tempe Country Harvest Buffet meeting room on Priest and Elliot (check your phone book).
What started out to be just a meeting for raffle drawing has turned out to be something much more. I, along with author Alan Korwin www.gunlaws.com , web guru Angel Shamaya of www.keepandbeararms.com , and Brassroot Phoenix representative Tim Weaver www.brassroots.org decided to implement an organizational model we have playfully dubbed "TUG" "The Umbrella Group" or "The Unorganized Group." TUG will not have any membership, no board of directors, no 501(c)(3), no official positions. It will exist only during the meeting and dissolve after adjournment.
TUG's only purpose is to bring together other smaller groups for goal of calling out the troops for activism. A member of one
group stands up and states is already devised plan for activism. He will get about five minutes to state his plan and pass out photocopies of his plan if he wishes. No discussion or debate on his plan will happen during the meeting. He will sign up volunteers and talk about it after the meeting. He sits down and the next planner makes his case for volunteers. Once the volunteers make the plan their own, they will operate under their banner, never under "TUG" which won't exist. If NRA, CCRKBA and SAS get together for a plan of action it will operate under their own names or another agreed-upon name.
If you don't plan to lead, or you are unwilling to follow, don't bother showing up.
