I just got a new Remington Supermag Sportsman 11-87 with a 26'' barrel and am looking into tube extioinsions for it. I want to fit as many 3 1/2 inch shells as I can anyone got any advice as to what kind I should get?Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I got one more??

Hey thanks for the quick response. I see they require you to drill out the dimples in the stock tube for the spring to go up into the new tube.If I drill these out will I be able to use my old spring and stock tube again or will I always have to use the new extension from here on out??Once again thanks for the info.

Once you drill out the dimples you will be able to back to your old magazine cap and spring as you wish.

Drilling out the dimples will not affect the gun in any way.

Well, not quite.

With the dimples gone, there's nothing to prevent the magazine cap from unscrewing, and it will vibrate loose.
Also, with the dimples gone, there's nothing to hold the magazine spring in.

There are several ways to handle this, with the the simplest being to buy an old style magazine spring retainer.
This is an old-style Remington spring steel split "Cup-washer" that's inserted into the end of the magazine tube to retain the spring.
These are very easy to find and cheap.

To retain the magazine cap, the easiest way is to wrap some Teflon pipe tape around the magazine threads, then screw the cap on tight.
The tape and screwing the cap on tight will keep it in place.

one more thought!

Thanks a bunch it looks like the 10 round from Choate is the one I'm looking for. One thought I wasn't sure about was do I need A new, longer spring or will the stock one I got work? Once again Thanks for the help.

Yep, the Choate comes as a complete kit, with the extension, a long spring, a new heavy-duty follower, a sling swivel, and the barrel clamp.
