Trying to identify an old rifle stock?

Found this stock at my grandparent's place years ago, no idea what make or even category of rifle it would have been.

The garden gun had a shotgun butt and a rounded fore end tip. The 1904 had a crescent butt and a Schnabel tip and you can see where this started to swell right before the break.
 
Thanks so much - I've been wondering what it was since I was a kid. I always thought the tip was eaten by white ants? Which would make sense because I found it in a hut. Thanks again I'm happy to identify it - not that it's really worth anything?
 
You might get a few bucks for the butt plate and trigger guard if they're not pitted too bad.
