I was gifted a .22LR Rifle: Western Auto Revelation 150 - 14shot, Semi-Auto and would like to find more about it. The Serial number starts off with 6922xxxx.

Any info will be greatly appreciated.

My records indicate that the Western Auto 150 is actually a Marlin Modeld 49, made from 1968-1971. If there is scroll work on the sides of the reciever it is the 49DL model.

22x9, Revelation was a trade name used by Western Auto on firearms sold by their company but were actually made under contract by various firearm manufacturers. In this case the Revelation Model 150 was actually a Marlin Model 49 with a different Model name stamped on it. The Marlin Model 49 was produced from 1968-1971 and was considered a field or utilitarian grade semiautomatic .22 caliber rifle. Yours was made in 1969. Today in excellent condition it might be worth about $100-$125. If you are in need of replacement parts I would recommend visiting the Gun Parts Corporation website. Hope this helps!

Thanks!! :)

Thank You. That was quick and exactly the info that I was looking.

The rifle is definitely not in mint condition. There was pitting and rust outside of the barrel that ran the entire length. The inside is still in good shape, just needed a good cleaning. However, the firing pin does seem a bit [umm.. umm..] gummed/gunked up and sometimes does strike hard enough.

I'll have to check about the scroll work.

Thanks again.
