it also has cam 76 then the proof mark and 16.0 on one side the other says kg1 290 then the proof mark and 16.1 does that mean its a 16 gauge?

If you do some web surfing, you'll find the company was founded by Cavalier Stefano Fausti after WW II. It's now run by his three daughters. Click here for a pdf of the Fausti catalog.

16.0 and 16.1 should be the bore diameter in MM's, which equates to around .629". That is in between nominal 20 gauge, .615, and 16 gauge which is nominally .66. It sounds from this that you might have a 16 with M/M chokes.

However, a 20 can range from nominal .615 tp to .635.

The 76 is the chamber length in MM's, which is 3"

Clear pics would help

I am unaware of any, but I have been wrong before......it SOUNDS like it is a 3" 20 gauge that has an overbore.

It might be best to contact a local gunsmith and have him measure the bore AND the chokes for it.

BTW, the pressure in KG is 1290, it isn't KG1 290. That's proofed for some serious loads

I AM surprised that there isn't another number on each barrel showing the constriction in MM's......
