Try this equation: ProMag + Wolff Spring = Up to Par??

Had an idea that was inspired by reading a recent post. It's no secret that ProMags and USA's don't have the best reliability/quality rating (as compared to gun mfg factory mags or Mec-Gar). But, are the mag bodies and followers made well enough to where a simple spring replacement (with a nice Wolff one) will bring it up to par? Seems too simple to be true, but I thought I'd throw it out there for fun.

GlockTiger.... I have 3 Pro Mags for my Browning High Power (9mm). While I had no problems with the stock Pro Mag, I was always wondering about the semi week springs they (Pro Mags) seem to have. I ordered plus 5% springs from Wolff. This might have cured a non existing problem. I just feel better with a stronger spring. Shoot Safe....CO

I have 14 Pro-Mag brand, steel-lined polymer, mags for my Glock 19 and 17. I replaced the factory springs on all with Wolff +5% springs.

I had to cross drill the Pro-Mag followers to accept the Wolff springs, but they have all been completely reliable since.

BTW, I also have about a dozen Pro-Mags for my Marlin Camp 9s (S&W style) and they have been reliable with the original springs so far. If they start to have last round feed failures, they'll get Wolff springs too.

I did the same thing as C-1 mostly because the stock ProMag springs seemed wimpy in some Sig 228 & 226 full cap mags I ordered from CTD. They worked fine to begin with, but I feel better with the stronger springs. No hiccups after hundreds of rounds. I still go with factroy mags for carry though, FWIW.
