Trunk Carry

Hi, I live in Commifornia. From what I heard, it's legal to carry a firearm and ammo in the trunk of your car if they are both in seperate locked cases, is this true? I'd like to have the shotgun in my trunk, just worried about the legality. Thanks for your help! - Jim

No, technically you have to be taking the firearm somewhere specific. You can't just keep a firearm in the trunk.

I don't think the ammo has to be locked up at all, but handguns have to be in a locked case. All firearms have to be unloaded for transport in your vehicle.

There are other rules for when a crime gets the add-on of being committed with a "loaded" firearm that don't apply to simply transporting a firearm.

Two Guns, I suggest you go to a book store and buy a copy of the new Calif. Abridged Penal Code book and start in reading in the 120xx, 121xx Penal Codes. Up until three years ago, you could legally carry a gun in the locked truck of your car, PER YOUR DESCRIPTION, but I don't know all the new laws the Kalif. Kommunistnazi politicians and top cops have passed.
