TruGlo TFO Sights

After doing a search on this and a couple of other sites, I'm leaning towards buying the TFO's for my Glock 22.
-The majority of the posts I've read were a year or two old; does anyone know if the problem of the Fiber Optic sometimes falling out has been solved?
Can I install them myself? I'm fairly mechanically oriented.

I was seriously considering the TruGlo for my Glock 26.
I then got a recommendation on the 10-8 Forum for the Ameriglo sights . The rear sight is black and the front sight has a green tritium center with an orange circle around the dot.
May give the Ameriglo a look see.
 
I've had the TFO's on my carry piece for close to a year now. Very bright, no problems, love them. I installed them myself with one of these: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=17840/Product/P500_UNIVERSAL_SIGHT_TOOL

Installing sights on a pistol is generally pretty easy, with the proviso that some brands or models such as the XD are built extremely tight. You'll definitely want a proper sight tool; hammer and punch won't cut it. With the right tool for the job, it's easy.

Forgot to mention,Trigicon came out with some new sights,Trigicon HD Night Sights. They are a bit on the pricy side,but appear to be very nice sights.
 
I put the TFO sights on both my Glock 19 and my Glock 30. Had a slight problem with the ones for the 30, as one of the rear tritium dots went dead. Called customer service, sent it in, and had a replacement in less than a week.

Overall, have put several hundred rounds through the pistols, and have been very pleased. They really "pop" at an outdoor range in direct sunlight, and they are VERY bright when you wake in the middle of the night and look over at your nightstand.
