truglo scope

I'm in the market for a new scope, and I would be elated if I could keep the price below $100. I do mostly range shooting with a .30-06 between 100-300 yards.

I was wondering if anyone has experience with a truglo 8-32x44 scope, and if that would serve me well. Also, I can't for the life of me find the tube diameter of the truglo scope...is it safe to assume it's 1"?

If your only going to be shooting 100 to 300 yard I would say get a lower power scope. Say something in like a 2-7x or a 3-9x.

Most scopes, especially economy models, have a 1" tube. I don't know about the TruGlo but I've used many a budget scope in my day and found them all to be satisfactory, including a Tasco 10-40x. It was largely unusable above 32x but you don't need that much power anyway. It did great up to 32 and it was like $125 so I was very pleased. I like lots of magnification. Some people don't. If you do, don't let others dissuade you. Don't expect $1000 clarity and light-gathering capabilities from your $100 scope and I think you'll be pleased. Cheap scopes have served me well for many years. No, they don't perform like $600 optics but the value/performance for the dollar is fantastic.

I want something a little higher than the 9x, I guess it's more of a "because I can" kinda thing. Thanks for the help though, I'll probably stick to cheaper scopes for now. I don't really shoot well enough for it to make much of a difference yet.

I have a Tru-Glo scope. It lives on my son's Winchester Model 67 22LR. Fairly clear optics for a 50-yard plinker, but I would not stake a hunt on one.
