I have a couple of mounted antler racks, not full head mounts, just antler/skull plate mounts. About two weeks ago my wife was dusting the cobwebs off one and it fell to the floor breaking the skull plate right down the middle. I set it aside with the intention of finding a way to screw a brace into the skull to repair it.
A couple of nights ago I was messing around in my little workshop cleaning off my reloading bench and found a tube of "Plumber's Goop" I had bought for a pool repair job and never used.
I decided to give it a try on the skull plate.
I glued it, clamped it for 24 hours and voila, just like new. No drilling, screwing or bracing needed. Seems to be holding up well. I haven't tried bouncing it off the floor again (hoping to avoid that).
