The prices are way too high in my opinion but no wonder many people still visit these areas every year. Generally 80% of the revenue goes to the development of local villages and conservancies which help to protect these species.

Hunting in northern areas of Pakistan for Markhor & Ibex is considered one of the toughest and challenging of the hunts considering the terrain, weather, altitude etc.

Has any one of you ever hunted Ibex/ Markhor here or any other place? Kindly share.

For those who are interested in getting a deeper view of how this would work out, kindly visit http://pakistanguides.com/hunting/index.htm. Do visit the amazing photogallery as well.

Note. I am not associated with this website in anyway and just posting it as we share a common interest i.e. Firearms & hunting. If you guys have any other queries, I would try my best to address them and would provide more website/ links regarding hunting in Pakistan. Thanks

My wife is a pretty big hunter as well. We try to go on a big hunting trip about every 2 yrs. It's a package deal. If I want to go, she going to. As far as a vacation to Pakistan, I don't think she would be going for that.

The price seems high to me also and how about all the people over that way that do not like people from the USA. Looks to me like you could end up getting more then what you are looking for.

Frankly, I did not post it to discuss the political situation here. I merely mean to ask if some one has any experience of hunting there or any interest.

I have yet to meet a person here who doesn't like "people from USA". :)

BTW, the link I provided above, if you check out its picture gallery, you could see that almost all the hunters are foreigners. Thats because situation is really not that bad that was/is being portrayed in corporate media.

The most fascinating picture I found are the ones below

This is a Blandford Urial and was shot and relieve of its misery by Mr. Corey (from USA) here in Baluchistan. According to the guide(Mr. Kaiser) : "Its the new pending world record when it will be soon certified by SCI."

Here is the head mount of this animal:

I'd love to hunt Pakistan. Every picture I've ever seen of your country portrays a beautiful land. Personally, it'd be worth the money, if I could every come up with such an amount.

@ojibweindian, thanks for your kind words:)

@koolmix, I wasnt sure myself when I read it ;) but then considering that this amount gets spent properly & transparently (which is a bit rare here ), and that people are willing to pay it too, tells me that its a fair game.

@zombieslayer, I am not sure but .30-06 is more than enough for any available game in Pakistan.
