Well i bought another sks the other day. It came without a magazine on it so i decided to go to cabelas and buy one. I wanted a decent 10 round magazine. None of the high cap stuff because ive heard of the feeding problems and everything.

The only one they had that looked like it was any good was a 10 rounder made by Triple K. it said it was uncoditionally guaranteed to fit and feed.

I took it to the range and it definitely fit and fed perfectly.

Then i looked at the package and it dawned on me.

Triple K = KKK. As in the Klu Klux Klan. I went to the website and tried to find out if it was affiliated in any way and came up with nothing.

The question i have is if it is affiliated with the KKK in any way. I am in no way a supporter of that and the fact that i might of unintentionally contibuted my 20 dollars to them bothers me. Also if it is, why do companies like Cabelas, and Gander Mountain carry their products?

And if it is not associated with the KKK, are they that shortsighted that they would name their company after them? I mean, it seems like a heluva coincidence dont ya think?

Triple K has been in the magazine business since AT LEAST the 1960's.

Triple K is NOT "KKK", it's Triple K.
They have NO connection to the Klan.

Ah, Triple K the makers of urine tanned leather! And Magazines too.:D

Nah, they can't be Klansmen, I've heard their factory is pretty much run by Mexicans.;)

well i dunno.

But you have to admit. Having a company named Triple K comes off a little wrong. I am glad though that they arent associated with the Klan.

In order to avoid being accused of not knowing how to use the "search" function......

........I'm resurrecting a 14 month old thread to ask about Triple K brand mag quality/reliability, not their ephemeral (at best) connection to the Klan.

I bought two 30 rounders today for my P89/PC9 combo at the Hickory, NC gunshow. They were new in package and marked 19.99 ea. I talked the guy into both for 35.00 cash. I've got my P89 on me on this trip and I loaded them both and hand cycled rounds out of them with no problem. The fit was much better than other aftermarkets I've tried. I had to put tape around my pro mag 30's to keep them from rattling in the frame.

Anyone have any feedback as to the quality and reliability of the brand? I've mostly used Ruger factory mags and mecgar/promags to this point.

Also as a side question....Is handcycling rounds out of a mag a worthwhile test of reliability? I basically lock the slide back, insert loaded mag, release slide, drop mag, clear chamber, repeat. I would think that forward slide velocity is the same under fire and when handcycling since it's governed by the recoil spring regardless. Am I wrong here? Granted under firing conditions you have the added motion of recoil to contend with, but I'm looking for a reasonable approximation when a range isn't very handy.

I've used a few Triple K magazines over the years.

Not the best, not the worst.

As for hand cycling, it may, or may not, tell you something useful. It's very difficult if not impossible to replicate the slide speed equation.
