Does anyone know anything about the Triple K AR mags? Are they any good? I ran across some, but have never heard of them
 
Stick with military contract magazines, they're still plentiful and reasonably priced. There's no reason to fool around with anything else for the AR.
 
How are military contract magazines designated? Do they have a "brand name"?
 
Military contract magazines were made by many different suppliers. I have a bunch of Center Industries mags, as well as a few Adventure Line examples. In rummaging through my magazine drawer, I also find some Sanchez Ent. and DPMI brand. The part number on these should be NSN 1005-00-921-5004, at least that's what is on the bags of my new magazines.

I avoid 30 round magazines not manufactured to military contract, since I've had so much trouble with them over the years.

Try ar15.com, they have a Mag for Sale board with good people selling good mags at fair prices. They also have some info on mags and AR's that will answer any question you could possibly think of. HTH, Tom
