Trimming

Just got some pull down brass...its primed no surprise there....but would trimming and deburr and chamfer effect the live primer at all

Does that trim off spacing on the shoulder?

I picked up a World's Cheapest Trimmer (google it) and it works great.

I'm sure you're aware you can't use a system that spaces off an anvil with a pin that goes through the primer pocket when the primer is still in the case.

Since the cases are primed check to see if they are also sized and trimmed before you waste your time.

If the trimmer does not use the primer pocket then why would you ask the question. does it?

No i pretty sure it locks around base of case...and i was just wondering is all didnt know it a little shard of brass would hurt if maybe it got stuck down in or close to primer

If you would deburr the inside of the primer holes, you'd be amazed at the size of some of the "shards of brass" that are in many cases already.

It won't hurt anything at all

I trim primed cases often, using my manual RCBS Trim Pro. Nothing touches the primer, or at least nothing should be touching the primer if the unit is set up right.

Pulled milsurp brass or even commercial brass shouldn't need trimming. Trimming is only done on an 'as required' basis. Doesn't need doing every time.
"...stuck down in or close to primer..." They'll get sent to the Promised Land upon firing. Highly unlikely there'd be enough to close the primer hole.
