I just bought a Glock30 and i want to put on night sights. I Live in San Diego and i was looking around. I located a place called
CALIFORNIA POLICE EQUIPMENT CO.
There prices with Install are

Trijocon: 105.99
Meprolight: 84.00
To me this prices seem kinda high, becuase i have looked around on the web and seen them lower, but i dont no if they include shipping, also i am kinda worried about sending my gun out of state.
HELP ME OUT GUYS WHATS SHOULD I DO?????
I will drive all the way to LA if the price is right.
Thanks House

I have Trijicons on my G21; Meprolights on my Gold Cup. Quality seems to be about the same, but the Meps seem to have a little larger/brighter dots.

Shipping is going to be your problem. Glockmeister will install Meps for $65; Glock/Smyrna for $70. If Glock or Glockmeister will simply let you ship your slide to them, you can do that by putting your slide in a USPS Priority Mail mailing box, pad it well, insure it and send it Priority Mail, delivery confirmation, insured. That's how I sent my Glock slide back to Glock for refinishing.

With tritium sites, you get what you pay for. Trijicon will last you about 10 years. Meprolights will last about 8. That's roughly the difference of the cost between the two.

I somehow have aquired way too many night sights. In the process, I have owned them all, including about 6 pair of Trijicons and two pair of Meprolights.
The Trijicons are okay, they do the job.
The OLD Meprolights I have are not any better than Trijicons, they are very similar.

But, the NEW Meprolights I have (less than a year old) are GREAT!!! These are some of my favorite sights. I have them on my Glock 19. The white dots are real big and bright during the day time, and the inserts are very bright at night. The white parts are covered with a glass-type covering that makes them look great.
Trijicons on the other hand SUCK in that department. Trijicons have no covering over the white inserts, and the white stuff flakes out! not only that but the white part is very thin and they are not real easy to see in the day time against a black target.
Meprolights on the other hand get an A+ in these departments.
Go with Meprolights! From someone that has owned them all, the new Meprolights are Great!!!

Ps- Is that the Police Supply place in San Diego on El Cajon Blvd? If so, I suggest that you DO NOT go there. They sold me a defective flashlight, and when I went back the very next business day, they said they would not take it back because it was used. I called them when I got home right after I bought it, and they were closing, so then went back the next businees day, and they were total jerks, all of them including the owner. Very very rude. All I wanted was my money back because they sold me a defective product the day before, and they refused to help me in any way and were very rude about it. I will never go in there again and I suggest you spend your money in a place that has some class. So to "So. Cal Guns" or "American Shooting Center" or ANY other place. Or, ship your slide to Glockmeister and they will install them for like $65 or so. (www.glockmeister.com)

I have both Mepro and Trijicon. I prefer Mepro they are brighter and easier to see day and night. I ordered a 226 with factory Sig lites (which are Trijicon) and I don't like them, too small. I have an old S&W with 10 year old Mepro on it, they have gotten dimmer but I can still see them in low light and night.

I have Mepros on two of my Glocks and like them a lot. I have shot some guns with Trijicons before and prefer the Mepros slightly over them. I have also had a set of PT night sights recently put on to a Glock 17. The sights look kind of odd on the gun, but in shooting I find them to be good sights with a great sight picture. I like the looks of the Mepros a bit better (maybe because I am so used to them), but heck, the PTs only cost me $48 plus shipping.

As for getting the sights put on, see if you can find a Glock armorer around. I had one of my friends put the PTs on and it only took about five minutes. It wasn't hard at all.

Have both, prefer MEPROLIGHTS. They are a little bigger and easier to see. I have some that are 6-7 years old, and others that are new and they are all still in great shape.

Get the meps, better bang for the buck.
