Trigger shoe problem

Purchased Kel-Tec P-3AT, love it ! Decided to add the Kel-Tec trigger shoe, makes a lot of difference to me in the trigger pull. Simple installation followed directions to the letter. However, after about 50 rounds shoe comes off. I have tightened the set screws to the point of something bad happening and even added a dash of lock-tite, thinking maybe the screws were backing out. has anyone else had this problem or can anyone offer suggestions or solutions ?

Stake the screws in place.

BTW, for self-defense guns (or police firearms), trigger shoes were not permitted for the very problem you raise. If the trigger shoe becomes loose, it can foul up the trigger and render the gun inoperative. That's not good for a defensive firearm whose priority is to work each time you pull the trigger.

Thanks for the info/advice. What you have said makes plenty of sense to me. Seems that Kel-Tec would have seen this as a lurking problem. Thanks again.

The other side of that coin...
I work with a guy who cemented the shoe on with fiberglass resin and wanted me to take it off. As far as I know- that thing is still on there somewhere. No, I didn't take on the job since the guy started out the conversation with, "Hey since you don't look too busy and we've been working together a long time now... I need a 'favor'".

If you choose to permanently attach a trigger shoe on a K/T, you relieve the grip frame so that frame removal is possible. The trigger has to go up through the grip for the frame to be removed.
