Trigger sabot?

Back in my foggy distant past I seem to remember that some company offered a boot or "sabot" that fit over your existing trigger that made the trigger fatter or more of a beaver tail type trigger, if you will. Who was it that offered this or was it too much Jack Daniels?:eek:

Ace used to make trigger shoes for most firearms. The trigger shoe made the trigger pull "feel" lighter by spreading the pressure over a larger area of the finger.
The problem was that, in many cases, the trigger shoe extended beyond the sides of the trigger guard where it could snag on clothing or whatever and cause an unintentional discharge. As I understand it, Ace stopped making their trigger shoes in answer to a number of lawsuits.:(
 
You don't mention a specific make/model of revolver/pistol, but for what it's worth, my S&W revolvers both wear .475" triggers. It's the same principle (it's all about the width) and in my opinion, replacing the trigger simply looks better than a 'shoe.

Trigger shoes, I thought, were kinda considered "old school" nowadays (???). They were all the rage when I was Bullseye shooting, but seem to have fallen out of favor over the years. But then, too, I haven't shot Bullseye in a number of years, either.
 
Do Not use trigger shoes with a carry gun,holsters are not designed for them and may cause discharge !!! .....
 
Thanks for all the replies, and sorry I haven't gotten back on here in awhile. Deer season ya know. The weapon in question is a T C Encore. 7mm 08. I replaced a trigger on a Ruger 77V with a Canjar one time and I fell in love with the width of the thing. I don't feel qualified to get into the T/C and I'm to tight to send it off to get it worked on, so............
