Trigger pull question - Kimber

I'm looking at the Kimber Pro Carry .45 ACP. I was wondering how the trigger pull was. I have a Hi-power 9mm and will have some work done on the trigger, but was wondering how smooth Kimber was.

I fired a Sig Trail Side Target .22lr. Sweet pull. Would be nice to get a large cal with such a pull.

Thanks for any opnions/experiences with Kimber.

I have a Pro Carry and I think its about a 4 to 41/2 lb pull But it is smooth. Some people get trigger jobs done but my Pro is fine the way it is does not bother me.
I have the Stainless Pro Carry SLE nice gun very accurate too.

Good Luck

Like shooter .45, my Kimber's triger is a SMOOTH ~4 pounds, however, the firearm is the Custom/Classic,

Picture your Hi Power after a good trigger job.
Thgat's pretty much how a Kimber is out of the box.
Now picture the Kimber with a trigger that breaks like glass. that's how they are after a thousand rounds. They just get better as they get broken in.

My Target model came with 4 pound trigger which is great for accuracy but I find it a little too light for carry pistol. My Ultra Carry came with 5 1/2 pound trigger which has gotten very crisp after several hundred rounds and is more to my liking for carry.

Thanks all. I want Smooth first and light, but not too light second. Looks like Kimber has it. Telling me it's a Hi-Power after a good trigger job is what I needed. I own a Hi-power and it needs a trigger job - but I love it.

Madison, I'm purchasing a new Kimber Pro Elite (found one, they were a limited production model) and the trigger is one of the major reasons I wanted this pistol. It's very smooth, extremely light (haven't weighted it but doesn't feel much heavier than the Remington 700 trigger that I had adjusted to 3 lbs), and there is an adjustable overtravel. When the hammer fell, the trigger stopped! I can't wait to get it out of layaway and "break it in". Good luck!!

You will notice a bit of difference from your Hi-Power. I've had the C&S trigger put in all my Hi-Powers. And it does help... a lot. Where you will see the difference is in the reset of that Kimber. It will feel like a very short reset compared to the Hi-Power. I got so spoiled to the triggers on my Kimbers, I had trouble going back to the Hi-Power. I would shoot the Kimber on Saturday's match and then the Hi-Power on Sunday's. Without fail, I would have one or two failures to reset on the Hi-power. Nothing wrong with the gun, I just go so use to the short reset on the Kimber, I was not releasing the trigger far enough on the Hi-Power.

You will love a good 1911 trigger. :)

One of the things Kimber does real well is they have a sweet trigger for a factory gun. You might consider having it lightened by about a pound and a half, but that shouldn't be necesary on a defensive gun

I was happy with the trigger on my Gold Match until I shot a friend's out-of-the-box AMT last year. That AMT trigger was light and crisp. So I sent the Kimber back to get it to 3.5 pounds and smooth. So far so good.

My Pro Carry breaks clean around 4.5 pounds, which is fine for a defense gun.

The best handgun trigger I've had is on the old reliable S&W 586 that I've had for twenty years. Can't even remember who did the work, but it's almost like a competition rifle trigger.
