Trigger pull on a Blackhawk .41 Magnum---

I did a trigger job,
on my SB 44mag a few years ago. Wasn't hard, just took it apart one section at a time & re-assembled it, each section, several times, till I got to the trigger. Anyway, I sent to Brownell's and got a trigger kit specifically for the Blackhawk. Then I polished up the parts that touched and moved to a mirror shine. Yeah, I know what yer thinkin...a quack-gunsmith-wannabe...But the trigger is light and smooth and safe. No problems with hammer gettin a good enof dimple on the round silver dooha on the bottom of the cartridge to make fire for the bulwit to go out the muzzle
. (Sorry, it's been a silly day). I would think you could get a similar if not the same spring set for your 41M. I'm not a big fan of clipping factory springs because I don't wanna do it if I don't have a spare. Besides, I "know my limitations". Let us know what happens and happy plinkin'.

Pop your stocks off, see up at the top there are matching springs (dog legged) at the top?

Shooters Pack=new model - 30/17 ::: you can mix and match your springs to find maybe some change.
Potentially to light of a hammer strike on the primer and not setting off the fire.
Some Primers just don't act the same. Rare but does happen. Factory ammo you ?should? be okay. Other are for the competition type shooter; i.e. speed.

tomh1426: re-look at the "shooters" pack. If you are doing 'Purely' target type competition; maybe the 'competition' pack.
I use, and have used 5-6 shooters packs and interchanged; [just messing about] springs. The major difference is ?let off? I haven't nor do I wish to return to the stock spring. It is that much difference for me.

What was described above,(releasing one spring leg), is often refered to as the Poor-man's trigger job. Not wanting to chase any-one from this forum, but if you check-out the gun-smithing section of the Rugerforum.com you should find the prefered method of re-bending the same springs for a smoother trigger, and lots of other how-tos for single-action Rugers.

Talk to your 'gunsmith' tell him or her what you ?would? like. Talk about how you would like the ?feel? Listen to the suggestions. Springs can be adjusted after the polishing and buffing.
If he or she makes you feel inadequate; move on. Just because he or she has all these credentials and cannot spend time with you. nuff said.
