The trigger on the Shield is a defensive trigger with a nice, short reset. The trigger will break-in at about 400-500 rounds (when I noticed a difference and have heard the same). I've been concealed carrying for 35+ years now, and I'd have to say the Shield has been my favorite EDC during that entire period.
The trigger on the Bodyguard is part of its safety. Plus, the BG has a second strike capability. If you get very aggressive with the gun, you can fire it defensively very well. It will suck a big one if you try to "target shoot" the BG380. If you hated the BG, the LCP is worse.
