Trigger Pull Adjustment for Rem. 700 Sendero.

I have an older Remington 700 Sendero in a short action. The trigger has two slotted screws on the front of the trigger. Does anyone know how to adjust these to make the 4# trigger pull a bit lighter? All help and instructions would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
