Trigger on my Ruger P95

I have a P95 it has about 500 rounds through it and I really like this gun, but the trigger in SA seems to be rough at times almost binding, I called Ruger and spoke with the head of engineering, he said to take apart the frame the trigger bar, sear and sear block and to clean it up than after it is all together he said cock the hammer than to press forward on the hammer hard and at the same time pull the trigger (repeat this 5 times) and that it will smooth any loose burrs (if any), well that didn't work.
He recommended I send it back and they will take care of it..
Has anyone ever had this problem before with theirs?
Also if you shoot it using just below the tip of your index finger you don't feel it, but if you go anywhere below that you feel it 98% of the time. I normally shoot the first pad (right before the second pad begins) of my index finger and if you do that you will feel it most of the time.
What could be the problem?
I am at the point that I am considering trading it for a P89 or P94...
Good or Bad decision?

Send it back to Ruger. They will fix it for free. If you still don't like it, then think about trading it. Why not take advantage of their excellent customer service?

I agree with glockdoc

Send it back to Ruger, Get it fixed and you will end up with a high Quality 9mm pistol.
I have over 10,000 rounds through my P95 and it shows looks new. It will Eat any type of ammo I give it without a hicup and is very accurate.

 I had the same problem with my KP-97,i applied forward pressure on the hammer as i pulled the trigger,i did this 7-10 times and it worked very well.As for sending it to ruger i would try a local gunsmith first because A) sp 101 sent back, shots low, kept 7 weeks, returned with no change. B)P-95 sent back, shot very large groups(all ammo tried, different shooters),kept 9 weeks and returned with no change,BTW if live in az and it took them this long to return my pistols,i wish you good luck if you return it to ruger

The last time I sent my MKII to Ruger I was told I would have it back in 1 week I had it back in 6 days, he said this time it would be about 1 week also. I sent it myself the last time cause he said if I go through a gun shop it will take 6-8 weeks.
I used it today, and the only time I noticed it was when dry firing... Maybe cause Im not paying attention:confused:

By the way what exactly is that doing when pushing on the hammer and pulling the trigger? Does that cause any premature wear?

Hey Guys,
I was checking some other P series pistols out today and a good percentage have the same problem. So at least I don't have the only one..LOL

When light pressure is applied to a
cocked hammer extra pressure is applied
to the sear. When the trigger is pulled
any burrs or roughness is wiped away
however this is not something to do more
than a few times,i don't think it causes
any undue wear if done properly. My
trigger on my KP-97 is now much better
after i did this :)

I have done mine no more than 6 or 7 times. And it is not malfunctioning or nothing I was just curious. When I had the sear and sear block off it all looked smooth.
I have noticed it is more noticable when you pull the trigger real slow but if you follow through with it quickly it just feels like a light trigger pull.
