Trigger Lock Arrest?

Anybody have any good info on the guy arrested in illinois for not having trigger locks on his gun?

Apparently, a child saw his grandfather's guns without trigger locks in a town with a trigger lock law. He was later arrested, after the child talked about it at school.

My guess is that the kids were being "educated" about what to look for, becuase it was "unsafe." My initial reaction was disgust... wasn't using the children to inform on the parents a favorite tactic of the Nazis ????!!

Communists and Socialists used children the same way. Growing up in Romania we were always taught that we should tell our teachers or principal if anything illegal was going on at home. Children are easy to abuse b/c most are not capable of standing up for themselves and more often than not do not think critically. I read an article soemwhere recently where the USMC was conducting excercises in civil disobedience control and one of their tactics was to get kids to tell them who had guns and who did not. Makes me want to puke my guts out :(
 
Taz, i does indeed make a freedom loving American sick. That why i said in another thread, never under estimate those who are in power!!!!

Years ago, I heard a rumor from a "reliable source"? that J. Edgar Hoover proposed to have Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts turm in reports on their parents if there was any suspected "illegal activity". Never was able to substantiate it though. Has anyone else heard of this?
