Trigger kit in my old M&P 40c w/ safety

Just some thoughts on this recent upgrade. the twist is this is an older model.

Picked up a 40c for $250 OTD at my local pawn shop and the gun seemed unfired, with box, grips and 2 mags. Thumb safety but that doesn't bother me as it's not intended for EDC.
I fired it a bunch and couldn't get used to the hinged trigger, just too flexible feeling, vague almost.
Did some reading and put the Apex polymer forward set sear and trigger kit in.
Gun shot fine but I thought the pull was excessively light, scary almost, so after talking to Apex, I got a new sear block and bigger sear plunger from SSS.
Turns out this is a pre 2010 model and the thumb safety limits me to one type of block.
Finally perfect, trigger is short and smooth with an almost imperceptible reset.

A few hundred rounds so far and I like it more and more although I don't think I would carry it without the thumb safety. Even with the heavier Apex spring she's still a little light for my liking for carry but a blast to shoot.

I have an M+P 9C with safety.
My initial bad idea was to put a competition grade Apex trigger in,and back it up with the safety. Before I did that,
I was open to learning a better idea."Range only" recommended triggers are not carry triggers. OK.
My original trigger would hold picking up an 8 lb sealed jug of powder.
I put in an Apex duty/carry set with aluminum trigger.About 4 3/4 lb,but...just a touch more than take up after settling in.
So now few IWB holster makers consider the thumb safety. That's ,IMO,a problem.Safety and holster need compatibity.
Post regret....I'd buy one without safety, and leave the trigger alone...or just put in the Apex aluminum trigger,bu tkeep the rest original.
I may contact S+W with the idea ,maybe,if they convert my gun to a non-safety version at S+W,and if I have a work order...its legit.
I can remove the part,same as S+W,but that's potentially a legal nightmare.

It is what I asked for,I just asked for the wrong thing.

Live and learn.

OK i gave up. considering the recent posts re triggers I had to update this review.
The trigger was too light even for the range, too many double fires even after a 400 hundred rounds.
The trigger never really had a break point unless it was dry in my livingroom. At the range the reset was so imperceptible it resulted in unintended or premature firings.
I took the forward set sear and trigger out and put in an Apex enhancement trigger and the original sear back in, leaving the new sear block, larger sear plunger and spring in.
Trigger has a perceptable take up and decent reset again.

The Apex in the newer 9c w/o TS is superb.

Range report to folllow this weekend.

Enhanced trigger with the new sear block and larger sear plunger and spring was the ticket.
The gun has regained it's sense of order and is a pleasure to shoot.
Much less felt recoil than my 27.4, shooting side by side.
