Trigger Job

Has anyone done a fluf and buff on a trigger and the result actually made the trigger stiffer? I'm using VERY few strokes with the lightest stone possible, following with a little buff with a low grit polishing compound.

I've had great succes with a couple of triggers, but 2 of them (one revolver and one mauser) turned out to be more stiff than before. The triggers end up being a touch smoother, but stiffer. The only thing I can think of is by polishing the contact surfaces, more metal contacts creating more friction.

Has anyone else experienced this?

The engagement angles are much more important than the surface finish of the parts. As said, if you're going to stone sear/hammer parts you need a jig. 90% of the trigger jobs I have done have been mainly to remove creep.
