Mini-14 Trigger Job

Thanks for the info Invicta. I spoke with these folks today and I am planning on sending them the trigger group for tuning.

Shoot it with good ammo before you do anything. And you have to tell us all about it. You'll be the first on any forum I play on that has one. Your range report is far more valuable than any gun rag writer's article.

You can do your own. I did it on an older Mini. Lots of simple instruction out there on the net. Turned out fine and improved accuracy over the "lawyer trigger" significantly. Nay saying from the usual peanut gallery not desired.

Thanks for all the suggestions, but after speaking with Carl at Accuracy

Systems I decided to send it to them for modification.

Dear Sir:
You know, I've always just learned to deal with triggers as individuals. Not that you're crazy for wanting a nice trigger but I like the old military two stage triggers - I have them on my 9.3s. and 416s - I just learn to properly pull triggers.

Harry, how does one properly pull a 12# trigger? ;) It's never to old to learn to work on triggers...most are pretty simple.

You certainly can't go wrong doing that. They have a great rep.

"...decided to send it to them for modification..." It's a sad thing when you have to send a thousand dollar rifle to be modified. Did you shoot it?

A Target Model Mini 14 is $1K ?

The rifle has a 12# Trigger ?

I would have been all over Ruger first.

My 25 year old Plain Jane stainless has a fairly nice 3.25 to 3.5# trigger. It could have been less crisp and more heavy but I broke it in pretty well back in the day. :D

TRAPPERONE, Let us know how it works out.

I guess anybody paying MSRP for a firearm deserves to pay MSRP for a firearm, but it sure is a shame that stupid should carry such an expensive penalty. ;)

Mini-14 Trigger Job

I received my trigger group back from Accuracy Systems and I am very
pleased with the results and turn around time of about one week. It
now breaks at around 3 1/2 to 4 lbs which was what I was looking for.
Thanks again to Invicta for your suggestion, and for what its worth,
I did not pay $1000 for the new gun($795) nor did it have a 12# trigger
pull out of the box; more like 8#.

It's just hard for me to see the words "Target" and "Mini 14?" in the same sentence without being really suspect.
