Trigger Job? Buckmark vs. XDM Comparison

I currently have a Springfield XDM in 9 mm. Very happy with it. Only mod after the first year were truglo sights.

Got my wife a Browning Buckmark 22 pistol which she loves to shoot. I love the short, crisp trigger it has. Darn near impossible to miss with.

Made me consider getting a trigger job done on my XDM.

Anyone know where I can find the trigger weight for both pistols or know what they are so I can understand the difference?

What I'm really after is trying to understand how a new trigger will feel in my XDM and how close it will feel to the Buckmark.

Thanks,

John

Your XDM will NEVER have a trigger like the buckmark. Just the nature of the mechanics.

You can pick up a good match trigger kit from either Powder River Precision or Springer Precision. I have used both and they both do a good job. I tend to prefer the Powder River Precision kit. You can find a review I did a few years back of both kits on here.

Even after the trigger job though, you're still going to have more of that squishy take-up with a fairly indistinct break. Fortunately, you can reduce the over travel to basically zero though, so that will help keep you on target.

Uncle Malice is right on the money. For what it's worth I also have experience with Powder River and Springer kits and give a slight edge to Powder River.

UncleMalice is right on.

I have a stock Xdm and have shot a friend's Xdm with PRP trigger kit.
PRP trigger is nicer than stock. My stock Xdm trigger was plenty nice for me that the gain with the aftermarket trigger parts was not worth the cost.

Hold on. Wait. Is that a 1911 I see in your future?
