Trigger finger RSi injuries?

Hiya folks.
Being a newbie, I've been training and training with my SA, especially in dual action mode, trying to pull off the perfect trigger squeeeze.
However...
...about 1000 rounds into the experience (over the course of some months) I am experiencing severe pain between the knuckles (shooting hand) of the index and mid finger whenever I need to apply force. This can be unscrewing a fresh water bottle cap, ripping up weeds in the garden, using a power drill, mowing the lawn... anything where the index or the middle finger are under strain.

A friend of mine actually told me some time ago to watch out not to *uck my hand up... looks like he was right?
What gives? Anyone in the same situation?

Thx

You could have a nerve fired up and it should go away with some time off. Get a Past Shooting Glove for some jell padding and if not try'n to speed shoot just don't hold on to tight. Most single actions are going to roll up more than recoil back and it pays to let the gun do what it wants too. It has been years sents i had a SA but it was a 44 mag and i could shoot it very well buy just litting it float in my hand and hold on to it like a bow. If you bow hunt you will know what i mean. I just wrap my middle figger around the grip and let the other two just help to control till it goes bang. Just don't grip the gun tightly or with all your fingers tightly.Unless lightloads like the cowboy shooting. If you shoot two handed then your support hand should do the tight grip. What brand, caliber and barrel lenght.

Hey thanks.... Looks like there's different schools of thought re. "tight" grips.
Me, I tend to apply pressure with my mid and ring finger, the pinky is just too low to use in any reasonable way.

I've been alternating with various SAs... Most of the effort went into learning on the SIG 226, and lately with the CZ SP01 Tactical. But I'll get the same kind of pain in my hand even if I shoot with my plinker (SIG Mosquito w/extended barrel).

Darn :-/
