I have an SR9 pistol and I have been looking for a way to lighten the trigger pull without cutting the striker spring as others have said they have done. On a Google search I came across this.... (see link above). It talks about adjusting to a 3.5lb trigger pull. If this does adjust the trigger pull (if im even reading it right) what effects will it have on my firearm? Is it going to effect how hard the striker hits? I'm new to pistols so these are probably stupid questions. I just want to be sure ANY modification I make gets me the results I'm looking for without badly effecting the performance of my SR9. Got any other ideas for lightening the trigger pull that doesn't require an expensive trip to a gun smith or cutting the striker spring.

I'm not familiar with the Ruger, but -
That part in the web link, to reduce the trigger pull on a SR9, looks very much like a connector on a Glock.
If it works the same way, all it does is allow a more gentle angle to the trigger bar, as it pulls the striker back and releases it.
The result is an easier to pull trigger.
