Hey everyone,

I've got a Ruger M77MKII stainless sporter. I can't recall, but I thought the trigger in this rifle was adjustable. Can anyone tell me definitively, and if so, how to adjust it?

Thanks guys!

I don't know if all of them come with the non-adjustable, tort-liability trigger or not. Mine did, much to my surprise. (This was a few years back; I didn't realize folks did that sort of nonsense!)

So, rather than screw around with it, I bought a Timney for about $70. It's a piece of cake, drop-in-wise. Easy to grind the safety bar down a tad for proper fit--I just used my regular bench grinder; no Dremel work needed. Crisp, clean, two pounds...

MkII's aren't adjustable. I have a KM77MkII in .308. The trigger isn't bad, but not great either. I just wish I could fiddle with it. :)

It's not too difficult to improve the M-77 MkII trigger pull with the judicious use of files and stones. Of course, for liability reasons, I would never condone or advise such an act.

Take it to a good gunsmith!

Take a look at the COIL SPRING just beneath the trigger.

Sent my 77/44 back to the factory for trigger work.
Trigger was way too heavy. Ruger did an excellent job making it right. I am very pleased. 10 day turn around to boot.
