Went to the range to send many rounds down range after seeing my accountant, damn I hate tax time. I got over it with probably the nices shot group I have ever shot with a large caliber handgun. Know I know why so many people love their 1911's.
1. Do the high cap. Para's fit most peoples hands better? A Kimber that I held in another shop had an uncomfortable feel to it, unlike the P14.
2. Why is the trigger pull so smooth and short and of light resistance on this Para?
3. Is that the purpose of coming out with the LDA model, to allow longer trigger pull with more positive feedback?
4. What is the best price out there for a P14 new? or used? or dealer prices?
Thanks

I'll try to answer your questions in order.
1. Not always. As a matter of fact, Para has now developed a single stack version of the LDA just for people who like the single stack. From what I've seen, most people are partial to single stacks...including me.
2. All 1911's are this way. It is the action style. The 1911 is a Single Action, which means that the trigger has only one function, to release the sear and drop the hammer. You don't have to operate the hammer with the trigger like you do on Double Action models. Cheaper 1911's normally don't have "sweet" triggers, but all will have the short and light SA pull.
3.The purpose of the LDA was to make A) Lawyers happier, B) people who are squeamish of carrying a 1911 "cocked and locked" happy, and C) Cops who aren't allowed to carry "cocked and locked" happy. (cocked and locked is the proper way to carry a 1911-that is, the hammer is cocked and the thumb safety is on). The SA style of action is a much more accurate way to shoot, it's also much more pleasing than a DA pull to most people.
4. Wouldn't have a clue, but I'd figure on $600 being the average.

mept, the best prices on a NEW Para that I've found have been from Bachman Pawn & Gun http://www.bachmangun.com/
They had the Limiteds in S/S for around $660 !
Elsewhere they are $100 dearer.
Another place to try for comparison is StatewidePawnShop
New guns 5% Over COST !
http://www.sbshow.com/UT/StatewidePawnShop/
Check them both out for ALL Para models & then price check them against guns from http://www.gunsamerica.com.
