Tried a new gel for bullet testing

I'm sure this isn't the right place to post this but here it is anyway. I watched the wife make up ice packs for the kids lunch boxes. She mixed water and alcohol in bags then put them in vacuum seal bags and sealed them again. It gAve me a crazy idea. I have a rectangle mold I use for mixing gel so I dug it out of the shed. I mixed up some water and alcohol and filled up the mold. Mixed with her recipe it was still pliable but thick and firm after removing it from the freezer. It's much denser than ballistic gelatin but it sure held the bullets. I had to go to wally world and buy a cheap set of the Lil plastic drawers for more molds. And more alcohol. Made up 5 more this morning and tried them this evening. If all you want to do is test how your bullet is holding up this is a cheap way to see. It's not the best but it's cheap and let's you know if your bullet is staying together.

For those that want the specs the drawer is 7 inches wide and 5 inches deep and 14 inches long. I used Scott leyseth's recipe of 1/4 alcohol to 3/4 water. Less alcohol makes it harder. Shooting a block of ice is fun but not really good for finding your bullets. This stuff held the 100 grain 243 bullets just fine at 100 yards. I havnt tried any other calibers yet. I'm probably gona need a bigger blocks for bigger heavier calibers tho.

Reloading section probably though this crosses borderline for people looking at what bullets do.

Its more re-load area I would think.
